Well folks I had a good weekend. On Friday I met a celebrity, Josephine Wiggs of the Breeders! Lucky for her I just thought I was meeting a cool English lady named Josephine at the time.

Saturday was a Kentucky Derby party and the hosts outdid even their own amazing Oscar party with the food they made. Fried chicken and ribs and a giant pork roast which I guess you'd call a ham but it wasn't like any ham I'd ever had. I don't even know what else...collard greens, corn pudding, corn fritters, biscuits, chili, red velvet cake... cheers to you guys, you can invite me back anytime!

Then someone had the bright idea that we should go see "Mean Girls," and even though spontaneity tends to throw me off, I went. Oh what a great movie, I definitely recommend it. It wasn't nearly as traumatizing as I'd feared. At the end of any teen movie I basically sigh and thank my lucky stars that I'm not a teenager anymore, and that I survived. I feel like a lot of the behaviors in the movie were really more of a junior high school thing. I'm sure the popular girls still played mind games throughout high school and college, but at a certain age the rest of us found just enough maturity not to live and die by their approval anymore.

Then I had a "Williamsburg Loft Party" to go to. I had to run home and do a quick change, because I was dressed for a jolly jolly picnic in my white muslin prom-esque dress and pastel blue accessories. Being seen in a garden party outfit after dark is like being seen in an evening gown in the morning, but with none of the fun and racy implications. I probably had some good reason to put on my Peter Gabriel t-shirt. It's a long story. This shirt is a giant face of Peter Gabriel, and at some point it was pointed out that when I laughed the face moved up and down. So at like 3 or 4 in the morning in a bar I found myself putting on a show by having him make all kinds of facial expressions. If you were there, I'm sorry.
