Have you seen those ads for the newest online dating service, "True"? (And in my memory I keep calling it "Pure.") Well, um, see that guy with the eyebrows and the cheekbones? Isn't that, um, that model of my acquaintance, Claude? Maybe someone who knows him better can confirm this. He's also in the INC For Men ads, is that right? The ad says "Where can I find someone to love me? Free compatibility profiles. True. Live. Love. Learn." The very idea of Claude ever saying that is so hilarious. And get this, it is the first personality-test-based matching service to offer background checks...they will apparently check to be sure you are not married and are not a criminal. Isn't Claude like, both of those? He's definitely not available on the site or otherwise. And, god love him, he is really a bit eccentric, not really the boy next door type. Well I will have to check into this whole matter about the background checks...can't you just give a fake name? The "life love learn" tagline sounds so cynical to me, like it's for these soured middle age women who keep falling in with married felons and ask, "when will I learn?" And I'll just see about their personality tests, shall I? And get back to you.
