July 16, 2004 - 3:50 p.m. Anyway so like tonight's action is apparently at The Hook in Red Hook (18 Commerce St.) where this band The Weather is coming up from Raleigh or thereabouts to rock us yankees. My contact says "These guys play killer power-poppy rock and roll that sounds not unlike a cross between Big Star, All Night, Humble Pie, and Rick Springfield." Sho-time is ten. Cover is Idon'tknow. Like, tomorrow, like who is going to either the country show or the siren festival? Like I know siren is just "a hot summer's day and sticky black tarmac" to quote The Jam, but I just like the whole thing about it being free and wearing a bathing suit. It kind of reminds me of that big all weekend party at college where I'd just show up and even though I knew most everyone, or so I thought, suddenly I couldn't find anyone.
