I did not win the spelling bee last night. I did pretty well but I messed up on "sacrilegious." Is that even right? I still can't spell it. I had such negative feelings about it that I'm glad I didn't spell competitively as a kid. It has that "if only I could go back! I know it!" feeling that is quite uncomfortable. A person named Linus ended up winning the $19 jackpot. The winning word was eleemosynary. Um, I have never heard of that word. So I feel like he deserved it and that even if I'd gotten my word I wouldn't have won. The bee went on for about an hour and 15 minutes. It was covered by "The Next Big Thing" radio show. I was interviewed, along with most everyone else. We are all curious to see how the segment turns out.
