Woo! Yee-haw! I won the spelling bee on Wednesday. Twice! I'm not going to go putting myself down by pointing out that at was the final game of the World Series AND a lunar eclipse that night; I still won the bee. I still spelled "boutonniere" and "thalassic" and I still took all the dollar bills collected in the prize pitcher. All told I made twelve dollars! I really hit my stride with the oral spelling. I felt like I broke through a wall. What happened was, we did the Bee and then people wanted a rematch right away and we all put in another dollar and did it again and I won again. Then we did it a third time and I got down to the final three but messed up on "sarsparilla" by spelling it "sarparilla." I was so hung up on the silent r's that I forgot the audible s! Oh well, I was starting to worry about being tarred and feathered anyway.
